Moscow Ballet community engagement program “Musical Wunderkind” brings violinist Maxwell van Hoeij on stage accompanying Moscow Ballet Principal Ballerina on Saturday, December 22, 3pm, at the Florida Theatre, in Saint-Saëns’ iconic “Dying Swan,” a major influence on modern interpretations of the Black Swan, Odette in Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. Moscow Ballet’s acclaimed Musical Wunderkind program selects local youth based upon their demonstrated skills and talents. Maxwell van Hoeij is a member of Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra’s (JSYO) Honors Quartet, concertmaster with JSYO and 2018 winner of JSYO’s Young Artist Competition. In 2017, he performed as concertmaster for North Florida All Districts. Through the “Musical Wunderkind” program pre-professional musicians have the rare opportunity of accompanying a world traveled principal ballerina live before their hometown audience.
